What not to do
- Don't use a hard brush on mesh — fraying and tears. Soft only.
When dirty
When visibly dirty.
- Remove the insoles and laces.
- Dry, soft brush over the mesh.
- Sneaker cleaner + a soft brush; work gently.
- Lift foam and dirt with microfibre. The sole can take a firmer brush.
- Dry naturally 12–24 h with paper inside, away from the radiator, then refresh the protector.

- A melamine sponge only on rubber/edges, never on mesh or leather (it abrades).
Just bought
Before first wear.
- A universal textile/synthetic protector, thin.
- Fit an anti-odour insole; a deodorant keeps them fresh.

- No leather products — Wonder Balsam, cream or Martens polish don't belong here.
Restore
only when needed
Only when the laces are tired or odour won't shift.
- Swap tired laces for fresh ones — the cheapest visual upgrade.
- For stubborn odour, replace the anti-odour insoles and air them out, deodorant overnight.
