    Notes

H&M Regular Fit shorts in a lightweight cotton-linen-lyocell blend (54% cotton / 30% linen / 16% lyocell; pocket lining 83% polyester / 17% cotton). An elasticated waist with a drawstring and a button-and-zip fly, slant side pockets, cut to the knee. The dark navy and linen weave make them a versatile warm-weather base for the lower half — everyday casual, and with a polo or a linen shirt they read smart-casual, in a quiet, coastal register.

    Care regimens

Cotton — jersey, woven and knits

    every ~14 days

Everyday cotton care — tees, shirts, chinos, sweats and knits. Wash cool and less often than you think, refresh with steam instead of washing, and protect darks from fading.

After each wear: Air between wears; fold knits and sweaters flat, hang shirts on a hanger.

    Everyday

After each wear and periodically, between washes.

    1. Air between wears instead of washing right away — cotton doesn't need a wash after every outing.
    2. Lift lint, hair and fluff with a lint roller.
    3. De-pill knits and sweats with a fabric shaver on flat-laid fabric.
    4. De-wrinkle with a steamer — it freshens and smooths without a wash.

    What not to do

    • On knits and sweaters use the roller and shaver gently — too much pressure pulls fibres.

    When dirty

When the garment is dirty, sweaty or smells.

    1. Pre-treat stains first with a stain remover — work it in and wait a quarter-hour before washing.
    2. Turn dark colours inside out; wash like colours together.
    3. Wash cool (around 30 °C) with a gentle colour and dark detergent.
    4. Tumble dry low or line dry — then warm-iron or steam.

    What not to do

    • Keep temperatures low: cotton shrinks and dark colours fade in heat.

    Restore

    only when needed

Only when blacks/darks have faded or the surface has gone bobbly.

    1. Revive faded blacks and darks by washing with a colour and dark-protecting detergent — it renews depth.
    2. De-pill a tired, bobbly surface with a fabric shaver until the weave reads clean again.

    What not to do

    • Heat fading is permanent — one cycle refreshes the colour, but truly washed-out black won't fully come back.
